When out in the woods looking under logs you may have come across centipedes. A invertebrate the shade of orange with speedy legs that make them difficult to catch with your hands, but can they bite?
 The only species of centipede in Jersey that is capable of biting a human is the house centipede, but you have to catch one first! This seldom occurs and you have nothing to worry about if you have these animals in your home. House centipedes, as their name suggests, live inside building and they eat household pests. The centipede species you find outside are too small to bite humans. Myth busted: Partly true!
